Sarah Attar competed in the London 2012 Olympics as Saudi Arabia's first female Olympic runner. Since then she has joined the Oiselle Team, and has completed ten marathons, including 3 x Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge, and most recently the 2016 Olympic Marathon in Rio de Janeiro, representing Saudi Arabia in the Olympics for a second time.
“More and more, I recognize my place in history and see that I can continue to be a powerful representation of something I believe in,” said Attar, who grew up in southern California. “Women should be able to do sports. It’s about sports being a positive in your life." - #BostonGlobe
The Arcadis Great CityGames on Friday showed the world what a resilient city Manchester really is. Great performances from @influence_sm athlete followers in Manchester, with @dutchfilmmaker winning the rarely run 200m hurdles in a very fast 22.48 pb, @james_dasaolu won the 100m in 10.25 secs and @orlando291991 took the 110m hurdles striding out in 13.50 secs! 🏃🏾🔥🔥🔥 .
Well done to the three of you and everyone else who took part in what was an important event for Manchester after last week's terrible incident 👍🏻😊
