My stay in Laos was not very long, as I got no big expectations about it. Actually, everything I knew about it before going were pagodas, bad roads and the name of main cities.
Laos is definitely different from the countries around, very calm, not pushy and not very wealthy.
From my point of view Laos is not the place to go for the cities. I could easily skip Vientiane and there's not much unique about Luang Prabang what i haven't seen multiple times before.
But Laos could be a great place for those who love nature, as nature is pretty stunning and there are areas, which really surprised me with absolutely georgeous views. And it's not just nature itself, but lots of opportunities for unique adventures. I never expected to do kayaking, caving, mountain climbing and tubing in Laos, but i done. Many experiences like zip lines are one of the cheapest in the world.
So give yourself some time for exploring Laos nature as it need to be enjoyed, but not just checked. If I ever go back, it definetely will be nature gataway as i already have few more places in my mind for the next time.
Some major practical numbers:
15 days in Laos
3 places + some areas around
1 UNESCO world Heritage Site
My average expense is 64$/per day for 2 persons.
With that i'm saying goodbuy to Laos and moving next!
